Andrew King
Managing Director
I've spent the last 27 years working within the industry, my background covers pretty much every aspect. Starting my career as a Cash in Transit Driver then Officer. Working behind the scenes in Cash Processing, more visually as a Static Guard and Mobile Patrol Officer. I've set up, trained staff and managed CCTV control rooms. In later years moving into the business management side, looking after clients as an Account Manager, then my first Directorship in Operations shortly followed with appointment to Managing Director back in 2004 - which is where I've remained ever since. I'm a firm believer that to understand your clients requirements and deliver the right results every member of the team needs to understand how all the different processes work together - and why should the MD be any different!?
Yes, it is a cliché and yes it's been used before but I genuinely want UK Security Services to be the best in the business. I hope that this message comes across clearly in everything we do. My team are paramount, I want them smartly dressed, well equipped with the latest technology, happy and focused on delivering excellent customer service. We pride ourselves on being active and not re-active and that is also key to ensuring that we're a leader in our field. Again maybe somewhat of a cliché again, but we value our clients, listen to their feedback and requirements, and tailor our services - we understand that one solution doesn't fit all!
Even after 27 years in the industry I wake up in the morning looking forward to the day ahead, as their is always so many exciting new challenges to encounter! When I'm not in the office I love spending time with my children, my son plays to a very high standard of football and we have our fingers tightly crossed for a bright future with him. Not to be outshone my daughter is in further education and considering joining the family business - when she's not socialisng with friends and hammering the new shopping centre that is... I'm also fulfilling a life long dream and learning to sing. It pushes me a little outside my comfort zone which is good for everyone from time to time and apparentently I have a Frank Sinatra vibe to my voice.

Operations Manager
I first entered the industry some eight years ago as a Control Room Supervisor and have progressed from there to an Operations Manager looking after several hundred clients, so it's fair to say that it's been somewhat of a whirlwind ride. Most recently I'm very proud in UK security Services being appointed an SIA Approved Contactor accreditation which took a lot of hard work and effort but is certainly well worth it and an invaluable experience. A better question for me would be "what don't I do in the day?". From the minute I arrive at the office until the moment I leave it's pretty much none stop, liasing with clients, managing the finances, handing the team, looking after the wages, some day's I even manage to grab a cuppa or two!
I want more people to learn about UK Security Services, I believe that we offer an excellent service and we always provide great value for money so I'd naturally like to see some new doors opening for us. I'm responsible for the standard of the work we undertake and even though it's high, even if I do say so myself, we can't rest on our laurels so I'm focused in always looking for ways to improve standards. Thankfully, I can't think of the last time we received a customer complaint and that can only be down to team we have in place, a happy, focused team. I'm proud to say that this is the best bunch I've worked with... but please don't tell them I've said that, they'll think I've gone soft!
My business pet hates has to be unsolicited sales calls, if you're planning to interrupt someone's day at the very least speak clearly and politely - and understand that no means no! I also can't abide automated telephone systems, which is why when you call UK Security Services you speak with a real person based within our offices - "I regard that as basic customer service!"
When I'm not in the office I love spending time fishing and with my family, in that order - just kidding. Although being based just outside Derby City centre and being a passionate Nottingham Forrest fan I tend to get a little bit of stick from the team here. So in the only place the guys haven't got a right to reply, our website please allow me say - "Come on you Reds!"
